In summary, we have generated weak sub-Poissonian light using a high-efficiency LED. The lowest intensity generated in this experiment is about of that of previous experiments. At room temperature the lowest intensity is limited by the decrease of the mean emission efficiency, and at liquid nitrogen temperature it is limited by the worsening of the frequency response of the LED. These behaviors are interpreted in terms of trap states.
